More than 60 people are confirmed dead and another 90 injured after a strong earthquake struck near the border of Thailand and Burma on Thursday night.
Most of those killed were in a town near the epicentre of the 6.8-magnitude quake on the Burmese side of the border.
Local officials say five monasteries and many other buildings collapsed in the town of Tarlay.
Officials warn there could be “many more casualties”.
Across the border in Thailand, a woman was killed in the Mae Sai district when a wall fell on her.
The shallow quake, which was just 10km deep, happened just before 9:00pm (local time).
High rise buildings shook in Bangkok, hundreds of kilometres away.
People also fled their homes in the northern Vietnamese city of Hanoi, where the quake was felt at a magnitude of about 5.
A number of aftershocks have been recorded.
