Great Earthquakes In Diverse places Earthquake jolts eastern Japan, felt in Tokyo*

TOKYO – An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.9 jolted eastern Japan on Wednesday, public broadcaster NHK said.

The quake, which struck at 9:23 a.m. (0023 GMT), was also felt in Tokyo.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami
warning was issued, NHK said.
