Earthquake Hits Tokyo

A 4.7-magnitude earthquake rocked Tokyo and surrounding areas late Friday, Japan’s meteorological agency said, adding there was no fear of a tsunami.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage caused by the quake which occured at around 7:14 pm (1014 GMT).

The quake’s epicentre was located about 40 kilometres (25 miles) north of Tokyo with its focus at 50 kilometres (30 miles) below sea level, the agency said.
