According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), based on a report from Jumono, an officer of the Mount Anak Krakatau Observatory PVMBG, which was received at Bandarlampung on Tuesday morning, the observation period on October 1, 12:00 a.m to 12.00 a.m, stated that visually the fog mountain condition was 0-III, and the crater smoke was not seen.
In the visual observation on the night from the CCTV, there were firelights, the flow of incandescent lava to the south and the flares in all directions. There was a bang and a vibration with a weak to strong intensity felt at the observation post, while the waves of the sea were calm.
The volcano located in the sea with a height of 338 meters above sea level (masl), during the observation, the weather was sunny and cloudy. The wind blew weakly to the north, northeast, southeast and northwest. The air temperature was 26 to 32 degrees Celsius, the air humidity was 59 to 87 percent, and the air pressure was 0-0 mmHg. The Continuous Tremor Seismicity, with an amplitude of 5 to 50 mm. Dominant 45 mm.
The conclusion of the level of activity of Mount Anak Krakatau was at Level II (Alert), and it is recommended for the community/tourists not to approach the crater within a 2-kilometer radius.
